What exactly will my yoga therapist do?
1. Take a full medical history.
2. Analyze your movement patterns.
Look at the way you sit, stand, and move to see if how you move in your daily life may be making symptoms worse.
3. Watch how you breathe.
Breathing is directly related to the pain and stress response, as well as anxiety, inflammation, hyperacidity, blood pressure, blood sugar, and fat metabolism. Simply changing the way you breathe can help reduce symptoms and/or reverse some conditions.
4. Help you self reflect.
Many things can affect an illness or injury. Sometimes a toxic work environment, unhealthy eating or sleeping habits, or troubled relationships can exacerbate symptoms. Simone will discuss approaches to change these from a yogic perspective.
5. Listen.
Be there to listen to your concerns and goals, and help you feel better and/or help you accept your current limitations and move forward from there.
